Interested in the basics? Crochet has been on your radar for awhile? Join us for an exclusive next-level crochet class designed for those who've just begun exploring crochet and complete beginners who'd like to learn.
This session’s project? An adorable, functional eyeglasses tray in the shape of your choice! panda, fox, or bunny.
It’s the perfect mix of cute and clever—and you’ll be learning new stitches and techniques: Single crochet, crocheting side to side, half double crochet, and depending on the animal you choose: triangle, ovals, or oblongs then adding personality with cute eyes/noses and pompom tails.
Right handed techniques will be demonstrated with the assistance of a projector. Students will learn crochet stitches while creating a tangible, satisfyingly cute project to take home.
It's an ideal continuation into the world of crochet!
Whether your style leans sweet and sleepy or bold and bushy-tailed, this class will help you sharpen your skills and walk away with a whimsical new friend for your nightstand.
Materials will be provided for LMS member and those who purchase general admission tickets. No guarantee of color or weight of yarn can be made! Feel free to bring your own yarn to add flair to your ideal Woodland Animal.
Instructor Bio:
Elle was taught to crochet by her grandmother at the age of six along with her siblings. Her first project was a granny square. She used up the odd and random colored yarns in her grandmother's stash creating dozens of squares until she made one of the strangest looking ponchos one could imagine. After that crochet became a frequent and well loved hobby for her. She made every baby shower gift, housewarming gift, and random Christmas ornament out of yarn. By the time she was in her twenties she was teaching crochet to classes at her local Joann fabric store on weekends. She spent her freetime trying every new stitch and technique she could think of or find. Youtube in the early 2000s opened her love of teaching and crochet up to a wider audience and for a long time she posted tutorials to that platform and sold her products on Etsy. She eventually put herself through college earning a degree and starting her career in criminal justice. With over thirty years of experience with crochet she is excited for an opportunity to teach her craft again.
