Melissa LaFayette is a Field Director with the National Development Council. She provides technical assistance to communities across the Pacific Northwest in the areas of economic development finance, small business development, and affordable housing. She is currently working with the Washington State Department of Commerce on statewide Opportunity Zone activities. Prior to joining NDC, LaFayette served as a Community Economic Development volunteer in the Peace Corps and worked for various community development organizations. Melissa has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Gonzaga University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington.
